Getting white-glove, personalized butler service, round-the-clock room service and access to New York’s best shopping and cultural attractions at The St. Regis New York doesn’t come cheap — though if you book ahead and during off months, you can save some money.
The average price of a room at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel depends on which room you want, what time of year you stay and how far in advance you book. The regular guest rooms range from about $795 to $895 a night, though that jumps up about $200 more per night closer to the holidays. To counteract the increase, you can save about $100 per night if you book several months in advance. The suites, of course, cost more. We’ve seen a range from $1,125 a night to $3,300 a night for the Astor, Deluxe, Madison, St. Regis, Fifth Avenue and Grand suites. The designer and presidential suites are considerably pricier and would be a good choice for a special occasion. Designer suites run $8,500 per night, while the presidential suite goes for $19,000 per night.
We think the splurge is worth it though; you’ll be staying at a classic New York landmark hotel that provides the most modern amenities and luxuries. Where else will you find marble bathrooms with gold-plated fixtures, crystal chandeliers and a marble staircase that cost $1 million to build more than a century ago?
The luxury hotel accepts all standard forms of payment and doesn’t charge resort fees, though a rollaway bed costs an additional $95. If you need to cancel a reservation, give at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid being charged one night’s stay plus tax.
