The table settings at Marea are indicative of the type of fine dining setting, especially one with an Italian focus. Don’t expect pats of perfectly tempered butter to arrive at the table — though if you asked we’re sure they’d bring you some. Instead, the table already has a glass container of extra-virgin olive oil that looks more like a glass sculpture than a pouring vessel. Otherwise, the tables are fairly simple and elegant with a white tablecloth, gleaming glassware and high-quality silver. A candle brightens that table and adds a soft glow to your food when it arrives. The restaurant manages to find an excellent balance between the luxury expected of a top restaurant and the playfulness and lightness of the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star restaurant’s mood. Scenic seaside prints are framed on the walls and conch and other sea shells are propped on the wooden bases below the windows and add a light and fun touch to this fine-dining establishment.
