Sushi hotspot Masa is open only for a brief window during lunch and dinner, and the restaurant requires reservations. You can book a table or request to sit at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star restaurant's sushi bar by calling the reservation line on Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., or Saturday from noon to 8:00 p.m. You cannot use OpenTable to get a reservation, and it’s highly unlikely you’d be able to walk in and get a seat.
Bar Masa, the more casual sushi restaurant from the same owner, Masa Takayama, also calls the fourth floor of the Time Warner Center in New York’s Columbus Circle home. This gives you another option, should you want to try the cuisine without planning your trip ahead of time.
If you need to cancel your reservation or reduce your party size, be sure to give at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid being charged $200 per person. The Manhattan restaurant requires a valid credit card for reservations, and parties of five or more are asked to pay a 50 percent deposit on the meal a week prior to their reservation.
