The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner

Washington, D.C.’s suburban hideaway
VERIFIED LUXURY

Well-positioned just 15 miles from Washington, D.C., The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner is ideally primed for both business and pleasure.

The 398-room hotel resides in McLean, Virginia’s booming tech corridor, surrounded by Fortune 100 headquarters. Its location and proximity to D.C. make it a draw for business travelers.

Meanwhile, leisure seekers flock there because it’s connected Tysons Galleria, the area’s preeminent luxury shopping mall, anchored by stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Celine and Chanel. And the hotel makes for a convenient base to explore both D.C. attractions as well as Virginia’s picturesque wine country.

A forward-thinking spa, a generously appointed Club floor, impressive city views from the upper floors, a wine bar with live music and ample meeting space make this a property that locals and business travelers alike return to again and again.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner offers its own entrance to Tysons Galleria, the area’s largest luxury mall. The Galleria portion — where the hotel is located — features outposts from upscale brands such as Bottega Veneta, Wolford, Ermenegildo Zegna, Versace and Cartier.
  • The luxury hotel is large in comparison to its D.C. counterparts but feels quietly intimate, thanks to a discreet entrance from the mall and its own exterior porte cochère.
  • The serene spa, on the Northern Virginia property’s lower level, offers one of the area’s only indoor pools, as well as an innovative menu that includes a section of CBD treatments. Though our favorite among the offerings is the new Longeva sleep-focused program, which makes the hotel a wellness-focused escape.
  • Perched on the 24th floor, the newly renovated Club Lounge — a favorite of many regular Ritz-Carlton travelers — offers panoramic views of the city and even into D.C.; on a clear day, you can see the Washington Monument, Capitol Building and even the National Cathedral.
  • ENTYSE serves globally influenced fare all day long. Enjoy dishes like raisin brioche French toast with Virginia apple compote, crab and avocado toast, and vegetable pakora tacos for breakfast, lunch and brunch, and roasted shawarma-spiced eggplant, crab pad Thai and a Virginia beef burger at dinner.

Things to Know

  • A partnership with Longeva means the hotel has a new special sleep-inspired massage, which blends flowing strokes for the ultimate de-stressor to send you off to dreamland (plus, you’ll go home with a program to help you enjoy more restful nights). Combine the massage with a light snack from the property’s new in-room sleep-friendly dining menu and you’ll be sure to leave refreshed.
  • Children are always welcome. The McLean hotel offers regular holiday programming, ranging from gingerbread house making to cake decorating that is great for families with little ones.
  • A decadent Sunday brunch offers a wide variety of seasonal and housemade selections, plus a bottomless beverage option.

The Rooms

  • Recently renovated rooms are spacious by city standards, starting at 330 square feet. Sporting cool grays with pops of blue and metallic accents, the modern spaces make it easy to find your Zen after a long day of shopping or meetings.
  • Fragrant amenities by Asprey add a spa-like touch to marble bathrooms, many boasting separate tubs and showers.
  • Ask for a room with Club Level access, where you’ll find daily breakfast, snacks and dessert, plus a selection of complimentary wine and soft drinks.
  • To keep up with its proximity to POTUS and FLOTUS, The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner offers his-and-hers Presidential and Ritz-Carlton Suites, one done in more masculine tones with metallic touches and the other a feminine palette with pops of burgundy. Both have dining areas and separate living spaces, plus an extra half bath.

Nearby Attractions

  • Proximity to high-end malls Tysons Galleria and Tysons Corner Center make this Virginia hotel a shopper’s paradise. Visit everything from Chanel to Cartier, Versace to Vineyard Vines and Athleta to Armani — more than 320 nearby stores make this a shop-till-you-drop opportunity.
  • Embark on an excursion to high-end RdV Vineyards, thanks to a new partnership at the hotel. It starts with a town car ride into the bucolic Virginia countryside followed by a private tour, wine tasting and charcuterie plate for a wonderful weekend getaway.
  • It’s easy to get to downtown D.C. Simply hop on the metro or take a 25-minute car ride into the city to explore monuments, museums and more.
  • Don’t want to deal with downtown? Other top sites within easy reach include Mount Vernon (the former home of George Washington), historic Old Town Alexandria with its quaint boutiques and shops, and Middleburg, the start of Virginia’s horse and wine country about an hour from the hotel.
