There are two museums in Park City, only minutes by car from the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Stein Eriksen Lodge. The Park City Museum, 528 Main Street, chronicles the city’s beginnings as a mining town and transformation into the arts, entertainment and outdoor hot spot it is today. Artifacts in the museum’s permanent collection include a 1926 fire truck, an original car from the world’s only Skier Subway and access to the original territorial jail. Park City Museum also hosts historical walking tours of the town.
The Kimball Art Center, 638 Park Avenue, has three galleries with exhibitions every six to eight weeks. Pieces of international, national and local significance are on display. The center hosts many events throughout the year, including regular Main Street Gallery Strolls, Arts Fest and Art Talk.
