You’ll find so much more than just the traditional Swedish and deep tissue massage options at the Waldorf Astoria Spa. The attentive staff is well versed on all the massages and can answer questions to help you create the best experience possible. A section of the menu offers several Ayurvedic and Eastern-influenced treatments such as the Abyhanga, which involves a traditional (and brisk) oleation massage to nourish the skin, calm the central nervous system and lubricate the joints. Additional options include: a mood-boosting Harmony massage, a relaxing 4-Handed (two therapists using synchronized movements), a lymphatic to increase circulation and remove toxins and a Mommy-To-Be for expectant mothers in dire need of a little TLC. By virtue of the spa’s location, we suggest the Mountain Salvation massage, which uses a specialty high-altitude oil blend and pain-relieving gel along with therapeutic techniques to get you back out on the slopes (or trails) in no time.
