What is the dress code at Kai Restaurant?

Kai Restaurant’s dress code, which the restaurant describes as “smart business casual,” prohibits shorts, T-shirts and hats (though ladies’ dress hats are allowed). Sandals are not acceptable for men and Kai prefers that denim not make an appearance. It’s just as well — in an atmosphere this refined and with cuisine this outstanding, you’ll be glad you dressed the part.

When I dined at Kai on a jam-packed weeknight, most diners were either Phoenix locals enjoying a special meal or conference attendees staying at Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa. I spied a lot of black slacks and businesslike dresses. But despite Kai’s somewhat buttoned-up dress code and white-tablecloth design, the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star restaurant is above all warm and welcoming; as you begin your journey through its fabulous menu courses, you’ll feel as if your fellow diners are having a good time, not as if they're concerned with appearances.
