Aji Spa's interior design is inspired from its desert surroundings, as well as from the traditions of the Gila River Indian Community. Walk into Aji Spa and look up into a rotunda painted to resemble a sky. Under your feet, find a mosaic in neutral tones. The entire spa is graced with artwork by members of the Pima and Maricopa tribes, who live on the reservation on which the spa was built. Stone accents in the lobby, wooden beams, and an orange adobe fireplace in the coed relaxation lounge continue the theme, as do the treatment rooms.
You’ll enter your treatment room to find a small native plant on the bed, as well as provisions befitting the treatment you’re about to enjoy. Our recent massage included an orange balm and featured on the bed was tray of stones. The stones had been selected by the spa's resident medicine woman and we were encouraged to take one home with us. We loved that personal touch.
