There’s something undeniably festive about the ambiance at Auberge Saint-Antoine. From the moment you step through the heavy red drapes into the sunken bar area, with its hearty fireplaces tucked into cozy alcoves and curious displays of artifacts such as coins, crockery and cannonballs set into the walls, you cannot help but feel good. Perhaps it’s the attention given to local history or the sense that the often eclectic furnishings have been selected with impeccable taste. Whatever it may be, there’s certainly a sprinkling of je ne sais quoi that leaves you with a warm glow.

At Auberge Saint-Antoine, every room has its own special charm, whether in the gorgeously designed contemporary rooms located in the main wing or in Maison Hunt, a smaller wing showcasing period designs — allowing you to step back in time to New France or to the British Merchant era. Note that in either wing, whether you’ve opted for the 21st or the 18th centuries, creature comforts such as no-fog mirrors and flat-screen TVs, not to mention hotel-wide Wi-Fi, are all part of the aesthetically pleasing and luxurious accommodations.

It would be easy to overindulge on the high-end comfort food offered at Panache, the hotel’s restaurant serving Quebec cuisine. But, you can always nip down to LeGym afterward for a go on the state-of-the-art exercise machines or a complimentary yoga session (non-hotel guests pay a small fee). A range of aesthetic treatments and therapeutic massages are also available.
