Turndown service at The Fearrington House is far from run-of-the-mill. In fact, it’s something to look forward to when you return to your room in the evening. What to expect? First, a small carafe of Rozes port (produced in Portugal), two port glasses and housemade chocolate truffles by the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star inn’s chocolatier are put on the bedside table. Slippers are placed bedside, and the top layer of bedding is folded down to reveal crisp white Frette sheets. You’ll also receive a discreet little note that includes the following day’s weather forecast.
And if you’re traveling with children, you’re still in luck. Turndown service also includes milk and housemade cookies.
Turndown service is provided every evening. Lights are dimmed, beds are turned down, and bedroom slippers are placed on the Frette bedside matt beside each side of the bed, towels are refreshed and placed on the heated towel racks, bathroom amenities are replenished if needed, clothes will be put away, bottled water is placed on the bedside table as well as a carafe of Rozes Port with port glasses and fresh handmade chocolate truffles. If the rooms have fireplaces, they are lit in the fall and winter months.
