What are the private dining rooms like at The Fearrington House Restaurant?

Answers from Our Experts (2)

The Fearrington House Restaurant is housed in a restored 1927 farmhouse and the dining room is made up of a series of intimate rooms — almost all can be set up as a private dining space. Each room is bathed in colors that evoke a spring bouquet; fabrics with intricate floral patterns and bold checks are draped over windows and tables. The chairs are antique replicas and original paintings hang on the walls (mostly still lifes and landscapes).

Upstairs is a private dining room dubbed R.B.’s Office, once the office of the restaurant and The Fearrington House Inn’s owner. It has a private foyer, windows on three sides overlooking gardens and seats up to 20. The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star restaurant’s wine room has a large rectangular table that seats up to 12. Here you can dine surrounded by the bottles and bottles of wine that flank the walls.

The restaurant offers two other private dining options, although these aren’t technically under the old farmhouse’s roof. The first is The Little House, attached to the original restaurant in the 1980s. It seats up to 32 and has great views of the surrounding grounds. The Old Laundry, adjacent to the North Carolina restaurant, is accessible by a winding walkway behind the restaurant and seats up to 35.
