Does the menu at Lemaire have seasonal dishes?

The hallmark of Lemaire’s menu is seasonality. No matter the season, however, one thing remains: a heavy emphasis on local and sustainable foods. Items on the menu featured tomatoes and herbs from the on-site garden, fresh local fish and in-season beets found in the vegetarian entrée on our recent trip to Lemaire. We especially loved our dessert, the peak of the season “blueberry soup”, with vanilla ice cream and housemade granola. The seasonal changes carry over onto Lemaire’s dessert and cocktail menu as well, making every trip to the restaurant a little different.

Featuring fresh, local ingredients to near exclusion, the menu in Lemaire changes each growing season to include those ingredients at are at their peak.

The summer menu features such flavors as the Hanover tomato and the Chesapeake Bay soft shell crab. The fall and winter menus include oysters from the Rappahannock River, the fruits of fall and Virginia classic holiday ingredients and flavors. Spring brings the arrival of asparagus, lamb and the first hints of summer to the menu.
