Tucked away to the side of the lobby in the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Taj Campton Place hotel, you’ll find the Campton Place Bistro and Bar. It’s a cozy spot with 10 tables, a petite sofa and upholstered chairs covered a subtly striped fabric with tones of gold, cream and brown. With its views of Union Square, the bistro is an ideal place to catch a casual lunch, dinner, or cocktail. Because the lobby is visible from the restaurant, it definitely has that bustling hotel restaurant feel. Just ask the host for a seat at the bar or in a booth if you prefer a bit more privacy. The little sister to the neighboring fine-dining Campton Place restaurant, the bar has a full menu of fresh, seasonal standards such as Tuna Niçoise and wild mushroom ravioli. A good selection of wines by the glass, some from Sonoma and Napa wineries, is available along with beers and cocktails.
