Reservations aren’t required at Spruce, a contemporary American restaurant in San Francisco. And while that may be true, booking in advance is your only realistic chance to land a table for dinner. Reserving at least a month in advance is wise for dinner, but lunch tables are much easier to come by. Either way, you can always eat in the bar or lounge areas. Those are first-come, first-served, and they allow access to the main menu, too. If you need to cancel a reservation, you must do so within 72 hours, which is likely to make some other table-seeking diner’s day.
