What is the design style of Harbor View Inn?

Answers from Our Experts (1)

Playing off Santa Barbara's classic Mediterranean, Spanish-influenced design style, Harbor View Inn’s vegetation-rich exterior evokes an adobe building, with a clay-tiled roof and brightly colored tiles lining each step of the many outdoor staircases. With three buildings, and an open-air bridge connecting the various buildings to each other, the hotel has an almost European feel. Around the pool area, palm trees dot the landscape, mimicking the grounds of a Hawaiian resort, and Beaumontia flowers climb the walls around the outdoor bar. The focal point of the bar area, a large fountain topped with a stone pineapple, adds more tropical flair. Like the Forbes Travel Guide Recommended hotel’s façade, the interior is also inspired by adobe design; both public spaces and guest rooms boast beamed ceilings and earthy color palettes.
