When staying at San Ysidro Ranch, be sure to grab a bit to eat at The Stonehouse, the hotel’s restaurant. Take advantage of the restaurant’s patio, which features a lovely view of the ocean. Especially during warm weather, you can sit out and take in that warm California sun while enjoying a quiet meal. There’s a wood-burning fireplace and heated stone flooring so when it gets chilly, you’ll stay warm and cozy. There’s also a fireplace in the dining room inside, making for a romantic and rustic spot. The menu features dishes that are filled with fresh, local ingredients like the chopped organic chicken and vegetable cobb salad, which is filled with applewood smoked bacon, eggs, Maytag blue cheese and San Ysidro Ranch herb vinaigrette.
San Ysidro Ranch’s other option is the Plow & Angel. The menu from chef Jamie West features upscale comfort food like the16-hour Guinness braised beef short ribs with boursin whipped potatoes, broccolini and smoked sea salt. The atmosphere here is also very cozy, with a fireplace and low ceilings with exposed wood an exposed brick walls. It has a very wine cellar-like feel to it, making for another romantic spot to dine at San Ysidro Ranch.
