What is the design style of The Phoenician?

There’s a certain grandeur to the design style of The Phoenician resort in Scottsdale. Although there is an undertone of Southwestern colors — pale sages, light coppers and earthy browns — the real sensibility here is opulence. Marble floors show up in both public spaces and bathrooms while the elaborate fountain of the lobby finds its match in the mother of pearl at the Oasis relaxation pool. The fixtures and features are certainly eye-catching, yet the interior spaces are decidedly soothing — a mellow contrast to the oranges, reds and purples of the desert sunsets. It’s almost as if the subdued colors on the interior of this Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel were chosen to magnify the bright, almost outrageous colors of Camelback Mountain and the surrounding areas.
