Though the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Georgian Room is downstairs, you just might be tempted to have all three daily meals in the comfort of your guest room after looking over The Cloister’s room service menu.
Two breakfast choices we heartily recommend to be delivered to your door at this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel are warm, ooey-gooey cinnamon-pecan sticky buns as well as the crab cakes Benedict, while for lunch you can order a traditional BLT sandwich with smoked bacon, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and mayo, or a pizza with your choice of toppings, including roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, grilled zucchini, sausage and pepperoni.
For dinner, we’ve tried the Sea Island hotel’s local white shrimp appetizer with housemade cocktail sauce and the grilled organic salmon entrée with spinach, tomato and cucumber relish — both were delicious. End with a divine dessert, such as vanilla bean crème brulée with fresh berries or the simple but classic Gold Brick sundae with vanilla ice cream covered with a hard chocolate shell, whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. Kids have their own menu that includes surefire winners like grilled cheese, chicken fingers and hamburgers.
