Kids pretty much rule The Cloister Beach Club (where The Cloister's pools are) in the summer, so most of the special amenities at the pool are just for them. Two of the three pools are open to all ages. Young children can splash around in the zero-depth pool — which gets deeper and deeper as it snakes around — and older kids can head to the aqua-play area, where water shoots up out of the floor. A game room popular with kids and teens that has a jukebox, Ms. Pac-man and a basketball game is located within The Beach Club, right off the pool area. There’s also a blue jungle gym and ropes area where they can play. Parents can opt for shuffleboard and basketball; courts for both sit close to the pool. When you get hungry, there are numerous nearby options at the Sea Island hotel. There’s The Beach Club Coffee Kiosk for drinks and zucchini bread, The Snack Shack serving quick kid-friendly fare like burgers and hot dogs, Wonderland ice cream parlor with a wall lined with scoopable candy, Flip Flop Bistro food truck and Southern Tide, a slightly more formal all-day restaurant. Near the entrance to the pool area, there’s a self-serve station of cold water with lemon, limes and cucumbers.
Adults will find some pool amenities for them. Just beyond the main pool is the adults-only Casino Pool. The Beach Club at this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel offers towel, umbrella and chair service, and has locker rooms and a surf shop in case you forgot to pack sunscreen or goggles. For the best grown-up pool perk, reserve a private air-conditioned cabana to shelter yourself from the sun and escape the kids.
We offer chilled wash cloths, sunglass cleaning, chaise lounge slipcovers, unlimited towels, sunblock, complimentary smoothie sample or fruit offering every 90 minutes, and full-service food and beverage service. The pool is heated for year-round use, and we have an adult hot tub. Our adult pool is 21 years and over.
