The Langham, Xintiandi, Shanghai has two bars: Cachet Martini Bar and XTD Elevated. Cachet is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, where you can treat yourself to afternoon tea or, in a separate area, a chic martini bar with a lengthy menu. XTD Elevated, on the fifth floor of the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel, is an outdoor bar that’s only open in the warmer months. Cachet Martini Bar’s menu is divided into a handful of sections representing signature martinis, champagne, wine, liquor and spirits. But we suggest sticking to the martinis. Try ordering the appropriately named Incredible, which is mixed with Beefeater 24 gin, sweet vermouth, homemade lapsang tea syrup and Angostura Bitters. At XTD Elevated, you can sip on champagne or a refreshing cocktail as you lounge on leather day beds in the cabanas. XTD Elevated also offers a small food menu with tapas, courtesy of The Langham’s Spanish chef.
