The guest rooms at The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai are comfortable and stylish. The white bed linens and pillows stand out against the long brown tufted headboard, tan walls and gold curtains. A merlot-hued bench rests at the foot of the bed, while two dark wood side tables with silver lamps front the headboard. Beige carpeting with a cream-colored “I” pattern covers the floor. A small seating area offers two short-backed, deep-brown armchairs with a single gold pillow on each.
In addition to fantastic views, all rooms (from Standard and Deluxe to top-level suites) boast an IDD telephone connection with voicemail, an iPod docking station, a DVD/CD player, an LCD flat-screen international satellite television, on-demand movies, Nespresso machines with full tea service, a mini-bar, an in-room safe (big enough for a laptop) and plenty of wardrobe and closet space (where those oh-so-comfy terry bathrobes and slippers live). Both non-smoking and special-needs rooms are also available at the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel. Anything else is just a phone call away.
