The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong is not a pet-friendly spot. The Shanghai hotel, whose rooms take up the 39th to 51st floors, doesn’t permit dogs to stay the night. The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel is fairly new — only making its debut in 2010 — so it may be wary of letting animals loose on its chic Art Deco-influenced décor and shiny tan-and-cream marble floors. Plus, skyscraper hotels in the Pudong side of the city don’t have a lot of green space to accommodate them. Overall, traveling with animals in tow hasn’t really caught on in Shanghai, so you’ll likely have to find a sitter for your pet when you visit China.
