Like the rest of the dining menu, the desserts change frequently with the seasons at Sir Elly’s Restaurant. But two dessert mainstays are always in season (and always on the menu). The Noir is dark, chocolate and very different from every other dessert executive pastry chef Lisa Crowe puts on the menu. It features a chewy ball of buttery caramel, a rich yet airy mousse made with chocolate from Madagascar and a sharp, bitter scoop of espresso ice cream, which punctuates the richness of the other decadent chocolate items. The second signature dessert item is a bit lighter — the Granny Smith apple confit with Arlette cookies is topped with a light and slightly herbal-tasting chamomile crème.
