The views at Yi Long Court vary with the seating. The main dining room at the Shanghai restaurant overlooks the rambling gardens of The Peninsula Shanghai, so during the day, you can gaze out at the pleasant, coiffed greenery. Some of the private rooms have views of the Bund, but for the most part, those cozy spaces are lacking in sights. It’s probably more interesting to check out the restaurant’s plethora of antiques in the dark wood china cabinets and the modern art on its walls. If you want a more spectacular Bund view, mosey up to the 13th floor after dinner to the bar at Sir Elly’s, where you’ll be wowed by sweeping views of the Pudong skyscrapers, the old Bund buildings and the Huangpu River. When the weather turns warm, take it outside to the bar’s terrace for unobstructed vistas and fresh air.
