Our Forbes Travel Guide editors say that Conrad Centennial Singapore has a contemporary design style complemented by sharp Oriental-influenced décor and furnishings. Polished granite surfaces, ornately stenciled armoires, a splendid all-marble curved staircase and cozy lounge area, outfitted with plush couches and chairs and ringed by tall stalks of bamboo, are a few of the most prominent stylistic touches you’ll find in the Forbes Travel Guide Recommended hotel’s high-ceilinged lobby. Most striking, however, may be the golden, conical-shaped ceiling installation that resembles an upside-down Christmas tree and, perhaps unintentionally, points downwards at the lobby’s other impressive sculpture, a blocky piece entitled “Turbulence” by artist Rafael Barrios. Barrios’ piece is one of the more than 3,400 among Conrad Centennial Singapore’s impressive collection.
