The Spa at Grand Lisboa

The ultimate Macau indulgence
VERIFIED LUXURY

Stretching across two floors of Macau’s Grand Lisboa Hotel, The Spa at Grand Lisboa is a hub of relaxation and rejuvenation. From the moment you enter on the fifth floor — conveniently located right by the Roman-inspired pool — you’ll feel your stress begin to melt away.

In the feminine foyer, the red and black Victorian-era décor complements a glittering light installation. Your personal check-in however, takes place in a modern pod — complete with faux fur details and leather seats.

You’ll enjoy green peach tea and a warm towel as your therapist inquires about your goals and any areas of concern. After evaluating your responses, she’ll suggest one of 13 different aromatherapy oils — possibly lavender and mint to uplift; Light Relax Body Treatment oil to unwind; or Support Equilibrium Body Treatment oil to balance your mind and body — to accompany your customized treatment. Then you’ll be escorted to the relaxation zone, where the opulent experience begins.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The 13 treatment rooms are beautifully decorated with mosaic tiling and wooden shutters to minimize the daylight.
  • There are six Private Heaven suites, so called because they include Vichy experience showers with soothing settings like “steam shower” and “tropical rain.”
  • The couple’s rooms feel endlessly romantic with gold and white mosaic walls, twin massage beds and an inviting tiled Jacuzzi. For the best of the best, reserve the Lisboa Villa — this deluxe space promises views of the Macau-Taipa Bridge, a private Jacuzzi and an experience shower.
  • Your wish is the spa’s command. If you need tea, refreshments or even a hair straightener, just ask.
  • Every treatment includes bonus pampering, including a 10-minute relaxation ritual — a hands and feet cleaning and massage before the treatment even begins — and the five-minute “wake up” ritual to gracefully conclude the experience.

Things to Know

  • Before and after treatments, you are invited to relax in the spa’s shared water therapy zone on the fifth floor. Here, you’ll find a rhassoul sauna, a crystal steam room, hot and cold experience showers, ice fountains and more.
  • There’s a private elevator that separates the public facilities from the reservation-only lounges.
  • After your treatment, there’s no rush to leave your private suite. In fact, you’re encouraged to linger and make use of the Jacuzzi or steam room.
  • The Macau spa is open from 8 a.m. to midnight, so you can enjoy a relaxing treatment whenever it fits into your schedule.
  • After your service, savor your preferred tea — green peach, ginger, lemongrass, ginger, chrysanthemum, jasmine, lemon or black— and a plate of dried fruits and nuts while you transition back to the real world.

The Treatments

  • The Grand Lisboa Signature Ritual is not to be missed. In this 90- or 120-minute treatment, a therapist uses a blend of Chinese and Swedish massage techniques and all-natural essential oils to alleviate any tension from work, sports or long-haul travel.
  • The luxury spa is also well-known for its wide array of massage techniques, including hot stone, Thai-style (including lots of passive stretching), tui na (a form traditional Chinese acupressure), pressure-point and Swedish, among others.
  • For something a little different, try the Vichy Shower Massage to luxuriate on a warm marble shower table while multiple shower heads knead you from head to toe.

The Facilities

  • The expansive wellness center stretches across 10,000 square feet, including a gym, spa, salon and pool.
  • Three of the 13 treatment rooms boast personal Jacuzzis. Not only are these whirlpools powerful with a dozen jets each, but they are also beautiful thanks to a lining of gorgeous jade mosaic tiles.
  • On the fifth floor, you will find a compact gym with a set of cardio machines, free weights, circuits and a tension-cable Kinesis machine.
  • The outdoor pool is another highlight. Channeling an ancient Roman bath, the heated swimming hole is encircled by towering columns and a spectacular waterfall.
  • Before you leave, swing through Le Salon for professional hair services, including cut, color and just-because blowouts at the hands of celebrity stylist Carr Cheng.
