Conrad Spa Tulum, the symbolic heart of Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya, is a mangrove jungle, herbal garden and locally inspired wellness oasis all rolled into one unforgettable experience. Arranged in a circular cluster, the spa greets you with a spacious welcome area, reception and gift shop. Then, it branches out with two identical water features (reminiscent of regional cenotes, or limestone sinkholes) meant for relaxation. An array of treatment rooms fans out across a garden pathway flanked by local trees and plants. An expansive lounge and healthy spa bar complement a dynamic outdoor pool, sauna, steam and cold plunge.

The Tulum spa, which is strictly for resort guests, is primarily inspired by regional Mayan culture, particularly the wellness ceremonies, healing treatments and botany. The sanctuary’s ethos is deeply rooted in the cosmology of yesteryear, distinguished ceremonially from typical spa experiences. Copal cleansing, four-element connecting and cacao drinking proudly show a reverence and understanding of the ancient ways. The spa menu features an array of journeys, ranging from healing botany rituals and meditations to a variety of nurturing massages aimed at individual well-being and couple relaxation.

Our Inspector's Highlights

Conrad Spa Tulum is one of only a few places in Mexico with a Lemi massage quartz table. With the quartz sand massage, the body is cradled in an optimal temperature while a therapist restores tranquility within 80 minutes.
Therapists use herbs from the garden to prepare oils, scrubs, and ointments used during the treatments.
Each spa ritual commences with a local copal resin cleansing ceremony and a guided meditation for added relaxation before treatment.
A local in-house shaman applies ancient wisdom and an expert healer teaches through various ceremonies to reconnect guests with themselves, others and nature.
Most of the products used at the facilities and sold at the spa store (kaftans, hand-woven bags, Wixáritari healing stones, etc.) are artisanal goods made in Mexico.

The Treatments

The 100-minute Itzamná Journey is a unique experience featuring an herbal cleanse followed by a nopal application, agave body wrap and a 13-joint massage with hot herbals and seeds. It is a highly renewing journey from the namesake ancient Mayan god of wisdom and health.
The Ocean Wave massage is a tailor-made sensorial journey featuring warm water pillows that create a sensation of floating and weightlessness. When wave-like movements are applied, improved energy flow and loosened muscle tension are ignited.
Local superfood chaya is the star element of the 100-minute Chaya Detoxifying Ritual, a full-body exfoliation that’s followed by an oxygenating herbal wrap. The nutrient-rich treatment leaves the body feeling rejuvenated.
Mud Therapy is a full-body detox, using a mud that’s rich in essential minerals and delivering purifying and anti-inflammatory qualities.
The two-hour Ancient Wisdom Journey is a pampering session in the couples spa suite. Beyond panoramic peeks of the jungle, you’re also promised a sage smidge cleanse, a full detox massage and a hot herbal bath with medicinal herbs.
