Château du Sureau doesn’t loan out laptops. In fact, modern technology is antithetical to the feel of Old World romance that this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel espouses. To wit, you won’t find a DVD player, a television or even a touch-key telephone in your room. The hotel does have universal Wi-Fi, but that’s its only compromise with modern technology.
However, the staff at this luxury hotel is far too hospitable to deny you anything. In case you find yourself desperate to go online, we’ll tell you a secret: The Yosemite hotel does have a single communal laptop and small printer. You’ll find both discreetly tucked away in the back corner of the grand salon, partially hidden by a door. There’s also a fax machine and a copier in the small front office that you might be able to use if you ask nicely.
In all seriousness, though, you should plan on bringing your own laptop or tablet when you visit. The Wi-Fi is great, and you’ll get a signal even when you’re sitting in the garden or down by the pool. If you absolutely must work, though, be polite and sneak off to your room to do it.
