Château du Sureau does not offer in-room DVD players or video game systems. This Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel is a sybarite’s paradise in many ways, but if you’re a technophile you’re likely to find yourself totally and utterly disconnected.
Owner Erna Kubin-Clanin has intentionally left the rooms void of any TVs, DVD players or other electronic devices that might infringe on the hotel’s sense of timelessness or clash with its classic 19th-century aesthetic. Even the in-room telephones are rotary, and the only bit of modernity you’ll find is a nondescript CD player, which is so unobtrusively tucked away in the very top of your room’s armoire that you probably won’t even notice it at first glance.
