Château du Sureau is pet friendly, but it has an enforced weight limit on in-room animal companions. Dogs are welcome — they might even get a special treat or blanket if you let the hotel know that they’re coming — but they can’t weigh more than 12 pounds. So if your pup is larger than a standard Pomeranian or a pug, you’ll have to board it elsewhere. The same goes for pets that can’t be classified as man’s best friend. If you never leave home without your cockatiel, you can call the hotel and inquire about the possibility of bringing her. However, reptiles, birds and small mammals generally aren’t allowed at Château du Sureau.
If your dog does accompany you, he or she may very well make a friend on vacation. Erna Kubin-Clanin, the Château’s owner, has a small, well-trained canine companion of her own who accompanies her to the office in the mornings.
