There’s little to no nightlife near the Château du Sureau. The Five-Star hotel is located in the charming hamlet of Oakhurst, where you won’t find many bars and even fewer clubs — unless you’re talking about the ones on the golf courses. Le Cellier, the wine room hosted by the Château’s cellar master, Samuel Aguilar, is just steps from the hotel and is an excellent option if you’re in the mood for a quiet drink.
If you have your heart set on painting the town red, there are a few local options. El Cid, the town’s popular Mexican eatery, has a fully stocked bar and a festive, casual atmosphere. It’s perfect for grabbing a quick drink on your way back from a day hiking or touring nearby Yosemite National Park. If you’ve been playing in the water at scenic Bass Lake, don’t pass up the chance to stop for a drink and an amazing view of the water at Ducey’s On the Lake. Hit the bar around sunset for the best ambiance, and if the weather’s nice, take advantage of its outdoor seating.
