As Lake Placid Lodge is smaller than most hotels — with just 30 rooms — you can imagine that cancellations have quite an effect. With a strict cancellation policy, you should only book if you are completely confident that you will make it to the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel. Of course, we understand that things come up; but you better hope that nothing comes up any closer than three weeks before your arrival date. As long as you cancel with at least 60 days' notice, you will receive your full deposit back, with the exception of a $100 cancellation fee. Or if you plan to reschedule, you can apply your full deposit to a future stay within that same year. That being said, if you wait until the last minute — even though three weeks is hardly the last minute — you’ll have to pay. Truly — you won’t only pay 100 percent of your stay, but you will also miss out on the peace and tranquility that is Lake Placid Lodge.
