You really can’t go wrong booking any room at The Point. But we have to say that the Boathouse is, hands down, the most spectacular room. Because it’s only open during the summer, the nautical-inspired accommodation is often booked months in advance. Even though the room sits atop the Boathouse itself, it’s completely private — actually one of the most secluded of all the rooms at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel.
The room is extremely spacious and comprises a fireside sitting area, indoor dining table, dressing area and a large bathroom. By far our favorite feature is the wraparound porch, which not only affords you majestic views over Upper Saranac Lake, but also two swinging twin beds that you can lie on to soak in the setting sun.
Inside the room, the king-sized bed is uniquely positioned in the center of the room, facing the French glass doors. For a real treat, we suggest leaving the French doors open (keep the screen doors closed though) and allow the sunrise to wake you up. You won’t get a more spectacular view from any bed in the hotel.
