If you are looking to squeeze in a museum trip during your stay at The Point, you only have one option. The nearby village of Lake Placid houses the United States’ only Winter Olympic Museum, and it is dedicated to the fact that the village is the only one to have hosted the winter games twice. Here you will find a host of interesting displays and memorabilia, including items from the famous U.S.-USSR hockey game, “The Miracle.” The story of the 1980 underdog U.S. team even spawned a flick called Miracle starring Kurt Russell. Receiving around 30,000 visitors and open all year, the museum is a fun stop; visit the museum if you venture away from the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel.
