Artisans Restaurant offers an elegant setting for fine dining within the grand Lake Placid Lodge in Lake Placid, New York. The Relais & Châteaux property's Lodge and lakeside cabins were designed to mirror the Great Camps of the Gilded Age, when the Rockefellers and Vanderbilts vacationed at posh, deep-woods getaways in these same mountains. Rebuilt after a devastating fire in 2005, Lake Placid Lodge is one of the most exclusive destinations in the six million-acre Adirondack Park. Throughout the hotel you’ll see masterful work by local masons, furniture makers and painters, and in the Forbes Travel Guide Four Star restaurant you’ll taste the work of regional farmers. Executive chef Mark Hannon offers a menu that’s New American in tradition, with a farm-to-table focus, featuring seasonal ingredients from area farms. Guests dine in a gorgeous room — intimate and fire lit — or, in fair weather, on the Lodge’s terrace, with views of the lake and Whiteface Mountain in the distance.
