The Hazelton Hotel

Toronto's glamorous boutique beauty
VERIFIED LUXURY
Located in the heart of Toronto’s glamorous Yorkville neighborhood, The Hazelton Hotel is one of the finest boutique hotels in the city. Inspired by the grandeur of vintage Hollywood, the hotel’s lobby — with its stylish Gatsby-like gilded gold framing and ambient lighting — welcomes visitors looking for an elegant experience while visiting the city or locals looking for a sophisticated retreat within the city.

The bespoke services start when you pull into the porte cochère, where you are greeted and welcomed promptly. Attentive, professional yet friendly staff members who take great care attending to details — from the valet to the expert Clefs d’Or concierge — is why The Hazelton is known especially for its exclusivity and discretion, a large part of what attracts leisure visitors, business travelers and celebrities.

But sleek, modern, spacious guest rooms, an excellent Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star spa and a top-notch restaurant are what keep them coming back.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The prestigious Yorkville Avenue address is one of its biggest draws for guests looking to experience the area’s unique shops, art galleries, museums, cafés, restaurants and entertainment.
  • The Hazelton Hotel has one of the best places to eat in Toronto: One Restaurant. The patio is particularly lovely, wrapping the corner of Yorkville Avenue and Hazelton Lane. It's often considered Yorkville’s best patio.

  • The glamorous, intimate spa features luxurious treatments from Swiss skincare line Valmont — the facials are a must. You can also use the 24-hour gym as well as a heated saltwater pool with a marble-clad deck.

  • Peruse the hotel’s collection of mostly Canadian art, from the precarious towers of nickel-plated suitcases from artist Bruno Billio in the foyer to Sorel Etrog’s bronze figures tango dancing on the mezzanine level.
  • We could while away the day in the green-flecked black granite bathroom’s deep-soaking tub. The bathroom comes with indulgent amenities, including an LCD television embedded in the mirror and heated floors.

  • There’s a private cinema with cushy armchairs. It’s a discreet space often used during the Toronto International Film Festival.
  • For a tour of the property’s art offerings, see the hotel’s art concierge.
The Rooms
  • Inspired by 1940s Hollywood, the rooms are on the large side, averaging 620 square feet with nine-foot ceilings. Many have views overlooking the streets of Yorkville through elegant French doors that open to Juliet or walkout balconies.
  • The boutique hotel and its rooms were designed by the internationally renowned Canadian design firm, Yabu Pushelberg, which seamlessly blended original Canadian artwork with modern furnishings and natural, organic elements like spruce trees.
  • Spacious guest rooms are soundproofed — an urban luxury — and have pillow-top mattresses, a pillow menu, dark zebrawood furnishings and Nespresso machines.
  • Luxe bathrooms feature sleek floor-to-ceiling marble with large soaking tubs, standalone rainfall showers and L’Occitane bath products.
Nearby Attractions
  • The luxury hotel is just around the corner from Yorkville Village, which is home to one-of-a-kind shops like TNT, Belstaff and Eleventy. SoulCycle and Whole Foods also have outposts in the mall.
