Toronto's glamorous boutique beauty

65 Rooms / 12 Suites

Located in the heart of Toronto’s glamorous Yorkville neighborhood, The Hazelton Hotel is one of the finest boutique hotels in the city. Inspired by the grandeur of vintage Hollywood, the hotel’s lobby — with its stylish Gatsby-like gilded gold framing and ambient lighting — welcomes visitors looking for an elegant experience while visiting the city or locals looking for a sophisticated retreat within the city.

The Experience

The bespoke services start when you pull into the porte cochère, where you are greeted and welcomed promptly. Attentive, professional yet friendly staff members who take great care attending to details — from the valet to the expert Clefs d’Or concierge — is why The Hazelton is known especially for its exclusivity and discretion, a large part of what attracts affluent visitors, business travelers and celebrities.

A commitment to environmental responsibility and eco-friendly practices are also a draw, including Tesla charging stations and a green roof, one of the first among Toronto hotels. Guests with pets need not worry; the Toronto hotel offers a pet-friendly environment, so furry friends can also join in the fun.

The Location

The prestigious Yorkville Avenue address is one of its biggest draws for guests looking to experience the area’s unique shops, art galleries, museums, cafés, restaurants and entertainment.

For shopping, there are small, designer boutiques as well as luxury brands along Bloor Street West, known as Toronto’s Mink Mile — expect to see glamorous brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès, Prada (don’t skip Holt Renfrew for a quintessential luxury department store experience).

Attractions like the Royal Ontario Museum, the University of Toronto’s historic campus, and the longest street in the world, Yonge Street, are also big draws.

The Rooms

Inspired by 1940s Hollywood, the rooms are on the large side, averaging 620 square feet with nine-foot ceilings. Many have views overlooking the streets of Yorkville through elegant French doors that open to Juliet or walkout balconies. The boutique hotel and its rooms were designed by the internationally renowned Canadian design firm, Yabu Pushelberg, which seamlessly blended original Canadian artwork with modern furnishings and natural, organic elements like spruce trees.

Spacious guest rooms feature near-soundproof rooms, an urban luxury, along with pillow-top mattresses, a pillow menu, dark zebrawood furnishings and Nespresso machines.

Luxe bathrooms feature sleek floor-to-ceiling marble with large soaking tubs, heated floors, standalone rainfall showers, mirror-mounted TV screens and L’Occitane bath products.

The Amenities

As far as bonuses, The Hazelton Hotel has one of the best in the city: One Restaurant by highly acclaimed Canadian chef Mark McEwan. The outdoor patio is particularly lovely, wrapping the corner of Yorkville Avenue and Hazelton Lane, often considered Toronto’s best Yorkville patio. Private events can be hosted at One or in one of the several meeting rooms, including an executive boardroom or a private screening room, a discreet space often used during the Toronto International Film Festival.

If you’re looking for relaxation, the glam spa features luxurious treatments that feature products from Swiss skincare line Valmont — the facials are a must. You can also use the 24-hour gym as well as a heated saltwater pool with a marble-clad deck.
