A sprawling Toronto retreat

If you want an urban escape, book a treatment at The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto. Set on the ninth floor of the luxurious hotel in Toronto’s Yorkville district, the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star spa spans more than 30,000 square feet — the largest city spa in the Four Seasons brand. Its floor-to-ceiling windows provide amazing views of Yorkville and surrounding areas, along with a welcoming glow of natural light. The pool area and balcony have the finest vistas in the spa, overlooking city buildings wrapped in greenery.

The treatment rooms don’t focus on the views. Instead, they are equipped with blackout curtains, in the hopes that you relax enough to catch a dream or two. To set a sleepy mood, choose from five playlists, which include classical music and ambient noises, and then get wrapped in the softest of fur blankets while being treated to massages and facials.

After your treatments, extend your escape a bit longer. Head back to the changing room, read a magazine while sipping on tea or coffee and then relax in the eucalyptus steam room.

A notable feature of the spa is its unique and subtle celebration of Yorkville’s history. In the 1960s, the area of Toronto now known for all things high-end and luxurious was the place for free spirits to gather and express themselves through art. Paying homage to that, the Toronto spa offers the We Are Yorkville treatment. The 3.5-hour service includes a foot ritual, a dry body brush with ground hemp-seed scrub, a warm honey wrap, a soak and a massage accompanied by patchouli-scented hemp oil.
