Prepare for any big meeting with technology, travel and clothing amenities for business travelers at The Jefferson, Washington, D.C. Technology amenities start in your room. Wi-Fi is free at The Jefferson, but the leather-blottered desk also includes an Ethernet cord for wired use. If you didn't bring your laptop, the concierge desk can help you procure one, or you can borrow one of the staff's iPad tablets.
In the business center, tucked into a hall near Quill, the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel’s bar, you'll find three computer stations as well as a combination print, copy and scanning machine. All of these are free for you to use. To get to your morning meetings or return in the afternoon, use The Jefferson's complimentary car service, which is offered twice daily on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., and again from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cars are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be arranged through the front desk or concierge desk. If the car is not available when you come down, or if you need transportation during other times, myriad cabs and livery cars pass by The Jefferson's central D.C. location, just five blocks north of the White House. The bell staff can help you arrange your car, load your bags and see you on your way.
The Washington D.C. hotel also helps you look good while in town for business. If you've forgotten your shoes or belt, the hotel will provide complimentary, basic black shoes and belts to borrow. If you haven't forgotten anything, look your best with complimentary shoeshines and one, one-hour free garment pressing during each stay. To get a shoeshine, place your shoes outside the door of your guest room by midnight, and they'll be back, shiny and clean, by 6 a.m. (Contact the hotel butler for the more thorough Presidential Shoeshine ($19).) You can also ask the butler for your complimentary press. The staff will pick up the garment, press it and return it. There is also same-day and overnight laundry service using the bag found in your room, but this service incurs a charge.
