Just like the savory menu, desserts have a French flair at Café du Parc, the French bistro at the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C.
For a simple treat, try vanilla ice cream covered in warm bittersweet chocolate ganache, or satisfy your chocolate craving with the Tarte au Chocolat, a warm chocolate tart topped with chocolate sorbet and orange reduction. Fruit lovers will enjoy the pear and almond tart filled with creamy mascarpone cheese at the Forbes Travel Guide Recommended restaurant.
Another favorite was the île flottante, an airy meringue in a pool of salted caramel and vanilla custard with crunchy caramelized pistachios that Forbes Travel Guide editors said they could order over and over again.
Café du Parc’s current dessert selections are Hokey honeycomb ice cream covered in warm bitter sweet chocolate; warm pear and almond tart with mascarpone ice cream and pear jelly; Pavlova with tropical fruit chutney and passion sorbet; orange chocolate and caramel brûlée on a devil’s food cake with orange sauce; and Saint Honoré, which is pate choux, coffee crème anglaise and crème puffs dipped in caramel on sugar dough with light pastry cream.
