Sitting at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, Fairmont Chateau Whistler has arguably the best location in the resort town. The ski-in/ski-out hotel looks as if it could be an old European castle, with towering peaks in the background. Located at 4599 Chateau Boulevard in Whistler, British Columbia, the hotel is about two hours from Vancouver. But once you get to the mountain resort, you won’t need to leave — regardless of what time of year it is.

Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort, home to the alpine skiing portion of the 2010 Winter Olympics, is one of North America’s premier mountain destinations. In the winter, you’ll find snow-covered slopes that seemingly go on forever, while summertime brings fantastic hiking and biking. From the Whistler hotel is in the town’s Upper Village, which offers direct access to Blackcomb’s Wizard Express chair lift. It’s also a quick walk from Whistler Village, which is at the base of Whistler Mountain — so you can ski or hike both during your stay.
