Each dessert at JORY at The Allison Inn is thoughtfully prepared with a wine. The sweet bites change with the seasons, but if it’s on the menu, we suggest ordering the warm apple crumble with gingersnaps and a scoop of bourbon ice cream. If you are too full, just the bourbon ice cream will do — it’s too good to pass up.
If you are a chocolate devotee, the Manjari chocolate and espresso dark chocolate-pinot noir soufflé cake with espresso crème anglaise, dulce de leche, perfectly crunchy cocoa nib brittle and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream is sublime. Pair this warm cake with the 2005 Barnard Briffin Syrah Port 2005 and you will dream of shooting stars the second you leave the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star restaurant.
For a lighter option, try the beignets dusted with powdered sugar and accompanied with vanilla mousse, raspberry caramel and dark chocolate sauce; an Okanagan ice wine is recommended with it. The most indulgent meal-finisher, order the dessert tasting, six sweets served family style.
