Domaine de Locguénolé & Spa

Brittany’s elegant riverside manor
A DISTINCTIVE HOTEL IN ITS DESTINATION

Set on the banks of Brittany’s River Blavet, Domaine de Locguénolé & Spa draws its character from the waterway’s history as a maritime trade route. The 19th-century château’s three lounges display an eclectic collection of curiosities, from suspended model sailing ships and shells to carved walking sticks and Chinese vases. Floral carpets and Chinese-inspired lanterns also recall the period when ships sailed from nearby Lorient to India and China.

At L’Inattendu, chef Yann Maget brings a similarly distinctive perspective to seasonal Breton ingredients, serving beneath a glass roof crowded with greenery. With dishes such as sea urchin pasta with fennel and lemon or Breton lobster curry with ginger and carrots, local seafood is paired with unexpected flavors.

Across the estate, the 17th-century manor retains its granite walls and exposed beams, while the former stables house Spa Macha and its heated indoor pool. For a stay that departs from the traditional château experience, Le Caprice offers a different viewpoint: a 1930s sailing trawler that’s been converted into a maritime suite with a private deck overlooking the grounds.
