On the Salford side of the River Irwell, The Lowry Hotel has occupied its curving glass-fronted building since 2001, when Manchester was beginning to reshape its post-industrial identity. The setting still gives the property much of its character. Santiago Calatrava’s Trinity Bridge arcs toward the city just outside, while floor-to-ceiling windows frame the river, Manchester skyline and surrounding architecture.
Inside, 165 rooms and suites emphasize space and light, with the largest accommodations extending into substantial living areas. The luxury hotel’s namesake, L.S. Lowry, is reflected in the property's art and photography displays, connecting the contemporary building to one of Manchester’s most recognizable artists. At River Restaurant, the river remains part of the picture through panoramic windows, while RE: TREAT adds a wellness component with treatments and unique facilities, including a sensory-deprivation flotation tank and meditation pod.
