The signature dishes for dinner at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island, a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, can be found at its formal dinner restaurant, The Ocean Room. This Four-Star restaurant is known for its steaks, with a nearby farm actually raising grass-fed cows just for The Ocean Room. The cuts of meat are juicy and lean, with specialty options like a 130-degree filet mignon or a huge bone-in ribeye clocking in at 40 ounces and brought tableside to be carved right onto your plate. The Ocean Room also offers a signature chef’s tasting menu everyday that revolves around fresh, locally produced ingredients such as corn, blackberries and tomatoes. This menu provides you with three different courses that offer a great variety of the native flavors. You can also add wine pairings to each of the courses at The Ocean Room for an additional cost. All in all, we think you’ll be quite pleased with the local and signature specialties you’ll find when you stay at this luxury Kiawah Island hotel.
The signature dinner dish at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island is the Sanctuary Chop in The Ocean Room. This is 44 ounces of well-marbled and flavored rib-eye. We get the whole cow from Mibek Farms (Barnwell, S.C.), which allows us to hand cut this special steak.
