How do I get to The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort from the airport?

If you fly into Charleston International Airport, you'll have a pleasant 30-mile drive to The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort — the scenic trip to the South Carolina barrier island is serene.

As you exit the airport, follow signs to merge onto I-526 West toward Savannah. Stay on this road for six miles and turn right onto Savannah Highway/US 17 South. Make your way down for five miles; at the fifth traffic light, turn left onto Main Road. If you navigate better via landmarks, hang a left at the Burger King/BP gas station.

You may notice that Main Road changes names several times; not to worry, you haven't unknowingly drifted onto the wrong street when you find yourself on Bohicket Road and then Betsy Kerrison Parkway. When you come to the roundabout, stay in the left lane and take the third exit onto Kiawah Island Parkway. Cruise down the tree-lined street until you hit the security gate, where you can snag your all-access pass for Kiawah Island Golf Resort, as well as a map to guide you to the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel. Continue for two more miles until you reach Sanctuary Beach Drive and turn right. As you pull up to the palatial hotel, turn left for valet parking or right for self-parking.

The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island is 45 minutes from the Charleston International Airport. The resort contracts with a number of off-island transportation companies to get guests to and from the airport: Bere's Executive (843-224-8631), Charleston Executive Limousine (843-343-5466), Coastal Limousine (843-795-8272) and Marquee Limo Company (843-530-3257).
