Signiel Seoul

A sky-high Seoul sanctuary
VERIFIED LUXURY

Located in one of Seoul’s most elite districts, Signiel Seoul offers an elevated experience. The luxury hotel literally towers above the rest from its location within Lotte World Tower, the tallest building in South Korea and the sixth tallest in the world. Suffice it to say, the property affords the best views of the capital.

Feel a rush as the elevator ascends from the ground level to the 79th-floor lobby. Dine in contemporary luxury at two highly acclaimed restaurants or soak up the skyline vistas from the property’s 85th-floor pool. Staff members are swift, expertly conversing in multiple languages and graciously bowing at every arrival and departure.

Even beyond the stellar service and sophisticated cuisine, the all-suite hotel takes pride in providing a relaxing stay. Every space seems to exude a calmness. But when you have sleek lines, neutral tones and massive windows at nearly every turn, a sense of peace is easy to come by.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • After being escorted to your room at Signiel Seoul, you’ll be served the hotel’s signature welcome tea. Sip the brew (available only at the sky-high hotel) while taking in those first breathtaking views of the city.
  • Visit the exclusive Salon de Signiel, a library-inspired lounge accessible only to hotel guests that serves snacks and sips all day long. Be sure to look out the windows to spot helicopters that actually fly lower than the property’s rooms.
  • The ultra-relaxing retreat SIGNIEL Spa provides a serene place to unwind. Start with a visit to the tea lounge before indulging in one of the unique hydration-focused treatments.
  • The 3,800-square-foot Royal Suite makes for a predictably regal retreat, but its sublime marble-clad bathroom is the highlight. Don’t miss a soak in the Instagram-worthy circular jetted bathtub — the sparkling skyline through the oversized windows makes for a picture-perfect backdrop.
  • Don't miss a cocktail with an unrivaled view in the dazzling 81st-floor Bar 81.

Things to Know

  • Arrive at the luxury hotel in style with Signiel’s VIP car service. Enjoy elegant transfers from the backseat of a spacious Rolls-Royce.
  • Opt for a room on the west side to watch the sun set over Seoul’s iconic Han River or book accommodations on the east side to wake up with the sunrise, a popular choice during the Lunar New Year (late January or early February) holiday.
  • Signiel has two coffee blends only available at the hotel. Try Signiel 79 if you tend to favor a more bitter cup, or go for Signiel 123 if you like your coffee rich.
  • Room 82 on every floor of the hotel is the most requested suite by guests hoping for that perfect view of Seoul. These accommodations see the most marriage proposals and are regularly booked by couples looking for a romantic getaway.
  • Make use of the complimentary shirt-pressing and shoe-polishing services by placing items in a valet box for staff to receive and return items without ever stepping inside your room.

The Rooms

  • Sleep soundly on super-premium bedding amid contemporary décor and elegant hand-embroidered plum blossom trees adorning some bedroom walls in the Seoul hotel.
  • Sleek marble bathrooms offer a spa-like retreat with double vanities, toiletries from luxe French brand Diptyque and spacious showers. Opt for an upgrade to enjoy a soaking tub overlooking the city through a wall of windows.
  • Every room features substantial windows that bathe the spaces in plenty of natural light. You’ll also find curtains that open and close at the push of a button when you’re ready for deep dark sleep.
  • For a more traditional stay, check into the river-facing Korean Suite Room. The stylish 900-square-foot accommodation features artistic touches like a butterfly mural and dark wood paneling in the living room, ceramic tea sets and a black marble bathroom complete with a wooden tub.

The Restaurants

  • For fine French fare from a world-renowned toque, pull up a seat at 81st-floor STAY. Savor chef Alleno’s classic menu featuring Korean ingredients in the chic black, white and yellow surroundings of this lauded dining room.
  • Stop into STAY in the morning for a European-style breakfast buffet or opt for a multi-course French tasting menu in the evening. At dinner, try dishes like steamed scallops coated in golden enoki mushrooms or prime rib with a fermented black garlic glaze.
  • You’ll find more local flavor in Bicena’s elegant dining room. Under the helm of executive chef Jun Kwangsik, the Seoul restaurant specializes in contemporary Korean fine dining with plates like fish noodles served in savory anchovy stock or beef- and mushroom-stuffed steamed abalone.
  • Bar 81 is a dramatically beautiful lounge that features Korea’s largest collection of champagne. Be sure to admire the stunning installation that hangs above the 81st-floor venue — in the twinkling evening lights, it’s almost reminiscent of bubbles rising to the top of a champagne flute.
