There are various relaxation lounges and wet areas within the locker rooms at Trellis, The Spa at The Houstonian. After check-in, you’ll be escorted to the locker room — there are separate male and female locker rooms, each with separate wet areas — where you’ll find your locker, the showers, restrooms, vanities and changing areas. Here’s where you can lock up your belongings and change into your plush robe and sandals. Then, head into the wet areas to relax your muscles before your treatment. Rinse off in the shower before taking a dip in the Jacuzzi, enjoy the rainfall shower or unwind in the steam room. After a little R&R, head out of the locker room area to the co-ed saltwater float pool. Here, you can enjoy the benefits of saltwater or just kick back on one of the cushy chaise lounge chairs and nibble on some snacks, which include fresh fruit such as grapes, apples and oranges, bottled water and juice. This area is a bright spot and provides a lot of natural light, and it is also where you’ll most likely wait for any nail treatments. Upstairs, there is a larger relaxation room, which is also co-ed. This is where you’ll find hardcover books and magazines to read while relaxing on comfy couches and chairs. While there, find soft blankets to keep warm or choose a seat in front of the fireplace. There are refreshments to enjoy here as well, including the spa’s signature confetti cookies, fresh fruit such as kiwi, bananas, apples and oranges, coffee, tea, bottled water, fruit-infused water and juice. For a little more peace and quiet, there’s the tranquility room, which you’ll find an entrance to within the relaxation room. This room features dark lighting with chaise lounge chairs separated by curtains for a little more privacy. These areas are warm and cozy, so most likely, you’ll want to spend a good amount of time here — so be sure to arrive early for your treatments at this Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star spa.
