Altira Macau is a short 10- to 15-minute drive from Macau International Airport. The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel can arrange to have you picked up in a house limousine or car, though you’ll have to shell out extra for the service. You can also hop in a taxi, which is easy and convenient. Just be sure you have about HK$48 on hand.
If you’d rather try out public transportation, several buses (marked AP1, MT1, MT2, N2 and 26) serve the airport. These buses cross the city and stop at the major hotels for less than the cost of a taxi ride.
Most guests arrive from Hong Kong to Macau by use of the airport ferry (about a 45- minute ride) and take a 20-minute taxi trip to the hotel. From there, the luxury Macau hotel will pick you up from the pier in a personal car, a quaint change from many of the hotels’ large buses parked at the pier. With Altira’s personal limo service, you immediately feel the luxury before you even step foot inside the Macau hotel.
Altira Macau is just 10 minutes away from the Macau International Airport and can be reached by taxi or several other modes of public transportation. Cabs can be caught at taxi stands just outside of terminals, with flat rates costing around MOP40 (about $5) plus tip and additional surcharges.
Guests can also take free shuttles to and from the airport. The City of Dreams shuttle service features hourly shuttles from Altira Macau to City of Dreams, a major resort nearby in Macau. From there, you can take one of the hourly buses from City of Dreams to the airport from noon to midnight.
The hotel has a limousine service that can be booked for a one-way sedan trip to accommodate you and your luggage. You can choose from a Mercedes Benz S-500, BMW 740-I, BMW 320-I, Nissan Elgrand, Toyota Alphard, Toyota Prius and a Maybach.
