Every guest room, suite and villa at Altira Macau has fabulous views of the South China Sea and the glittering lights of the Macau Peninsula, but the best views might be from one of the 16 contemporary corner suites, which afford unobstructed, panoramic views of the sunset through a floor-to-ceiling wall of windows that curves with the shape of the building. That said, as much as we like the hedonistic suites and villas at this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, the layout and design of the standard waterfront view rooms is appealing as well.
It often feels like cigarettes are part of the culture in Macau and the stench is very difficult to avoid, so note that guest rooms on floors 30 to 33 are completely non-smoking, a huge bonus for non-smokers or if cigarette smoke simply bothers you.
We designed Altira Macau so that every room allows for a spectacular view of the Macau peninsula and China South Sea. In that sense, you can’t go wrong! If you’re traveling with a family or a group, the larger rooms such as the Premiere Suites provide more space to spread out extraordinary view the sunset. Of course, our Villas are our prized possessions. We consider our Villas to be our most private and personal rooms at Altira Macau, and they are priced at around MOP25,000 a night (about $3,000), with loads of living space, a steam room, Jacuzzi, gym equipment and a fully stocked kitchenette and lounge area. The icing on the cake is the 24-hour butler service, which is there to accommodate your late-night cravings or your early morning requests.
