What are the relaxation lounges/locker rooms like at The Spa at Bernardus Lodge?

The locker room at The Spa at Bernardus Lodge offers the same warm and soothing décor found throughout the luxury Carmel Valley property. You’ll walk down a long, dim hallway illuminated by scented herbal candles on your way to the men’s or women’s locker room. In the women’s locker room, the first thing you see is the dry sauna, eucalyptus steam room and three showers covered by striped curtains — one of the showers is handicapped accessible. Opposite the showers is a speckled granite vanity with two sinks and all the tools you’ll need to fix your hair and makeup after your massage or facial — combs and brushes in plastic wrappers, razors, shower caps, makeup remover pads and hair spray. Small containers hold mouthwash, lotion and cotton swabs. A magnifying mirror and a vase holding roses finish the display on the counter. If you need a bath towel or a small cool towel with cucumber and rose petals, you’ll find them on a tall shelf next to the vanity. If you continue across the tiled floor, you’ll reach a small carpeted area with two rows of lockers and a pair of vanity chairs upholstered in floral fabric. Around the corner are three bathroom stalls, sinks and a small table with a dispenser of fruit-infused water as well.
